Single-End Network Cable Tracer
A single-ended network cable tester (also known as a single-head or one-sided cable tracker) is a network cable testing tool that eliminates the need for a remote unit or any device at the far end of the cable.
By connecting only to a single RJ45 connector, it can perform functions such as cable tracking, wire sequence detection, and continuity testing. As an upgraded version of the traditional dual-ended wire tracker, it is particularly effective for pre-installed wiring scenarios where the other end of the cable is difficult to access.
Working Principle
A single-ended network cable tester achieves one-sided testing by utilizing independent chipsets to detect loopback signals or capacitive sensing technology. Signal is transmitted by the main unit through all wire pairs of the network cable. Then internal circuitry analyzes the feedback and attenuation of the signal between each wire pair. The final test results will be displayed through light indicators on the screen. For cable locating, the device emits an audio signal that is picked up by an inductive receiver, allowing the user to identify the target cable within a dense bundle.

· Shielding (STP) Integrity Test: High-end models support testing for the continuity of the shielded layer in STP/FTP cables to ensure grounding and EMI protection.
· High-Voltage Protection: Features anti-burn protection; automatically identifies live cables to prevent equipment damage and electrical hazards.
· Extended 1500 m reach: High-sensitivity sinal support cable tracing up to 1,500 meters (approx. 4,900 feet).
