Portable XRF Mineral Analyzer
Working Principle
A portable XRF mineral analyzer works by directing high-energy primary X-rays from its integrated source onto a mineral sample. These X-rays dislodge inner-shell electrons in the sample’s atoms, creating unstable electron vacancies. To restore stability, electrons from higher-energy outer shells drop into these vacancies, releasing unique "characteristic X-rays" that act as a fingerprint for each chemical element. A sensitive detector captures these X-rays, converts them into measurable electrical signals, and the analyzer’s software processes this data to identify and quantify the elements present—delivering rapid, non-destructive results directly in the field.
